Come and enjoy the crystal-blue waters and white-powder beaches, marshes and historic sites located along this stretch of 150 miles spanning from Santa Rosa Island to West Ship Island in Mississippi. Visit the barrier islands which feature historic sites including forts and a tree farm begun by John Quincy Adams. Swimming areas are located at Perdido Key, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Fort Pickens. Visitors may also choose to fish from the beach, snorkel, scuba dive and walk on nature trails. Camping fees are $15 without electricity and $20 with electricity. Reservations required.
Perdido Key State Recreation Area is a 247-acre barrier island located in close proximity to Pensacola. Enjoy the wide, white-sand beaches which hug the Gulf of Mexico. Recreation opportunities include swimming, fishing, picnicking and guided tours. Shower facilities available.
